Silent Victims Project: Mobility Program in Izmir โ€“ Empowering Youth on Digital Safety and Anti-Cyberbullying! ๐ŸŒ

Weโ€™re excited to share that the Silent Victims Project recently hosted a successful mobility week in Izmir, Turkey, from October 28th to November 1st, 2024! ๐ŸŒโœจ This event brought together partners from Turkey, Belgium, and Romania to discuss, educate, and engage around digital security, cyberbullying, and protection of personal data in todayโ€™s digital world.

Highlights of the Week

Monday: The event kicked off with a warm welcoming ceremony, followed by partner presentations on digital security policies in each country. Attendees then watched an impactful video on Gender Digital Violence to spark important discussions. The evening concluded with a traditional Welcome Dinner in Izmir, fostering camaraderie among participants.

Tuesday: We delved deeper into our digital rights with a seminar by an expert on Personal Data Protection. Later, participants engaged in a creative Slogan Contest, producing inspiring slogans on cyberbullying that will be shared across our projectโ€™s social media! The day concluded with a screening of the movie Searching, which portrays a powerful story on digital privacy and online risks.

Wednesday: Participants joined a hands-on Workshop on Cyberbullying, examining technological tools where bullying occurs and brainstorming strategies for safety. Expert-led seminars on Cyber Security Education provided practical guidance for addressing online threats.

Thursday: A day of emotional exploration and empathy-building, including a Drama Activity and Psychodrama Workshop where participants shared their views on cyberbullying through creative expression. In the afternoon, participants enjoyed a Cultural Tour of Izmir, experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the city.

Friday: The week wrapped up with a forward-looking session on future project activities, followed by the introduction of an Anti-Cyberbullying Agreement aimed at empowering youth to recognize and combat cyberbullying. The program concluded with an expert seminar on Digital Security and Privacy, followed by a memorable Farewell Dinner and Certificate Ceremony.

The Silent Victims Project continues its mission to equip young people and educators with tools to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. Our collective efforts and insights will strengthen awareness and preventive measures against cyberbullying and digital violence.
