Zero Waste
Project Description
This project was created to operate in one of the most important areas topics of the modern world – environmental protection and recycling. We want our ecological activities to be replicable and an example of good practice. The most important objectives of the project are:
- to implement ecological activities that will strengthen the role of the individuals,
- to involve not only students and teachers but also the local community in the activities,
- to encourage the building of participation mechanisms (including students) in the process of shaping the environment,
- to Introduce sound ecological knowledge into educational programs that are based on scientific research – especially regarding garbage, water, and air quality and ways of counteracting,
- to support teachers in implementing ecological topics as part of cross-curricular activities,
- to develop a tool kit on environmental awareness and recycling that will be integrated into the curriculum of the partner schools,
- to encourage schools to try new, unconventional activities and adopt the outcomes of the project in the field of ecology (setting up a compost station and greenhouse from recycled materials in schools’ gardens),
- to use eTwinning for the project, which will make it possible to exchange experiences and good practices and share pedagogical resources,
- student participation and promoting effective learning across subjects,
- to foster foreign language and communication skills of the participant students,
- to enhance the intercultural collaboration and cooperation skills of the teachers,

Project Results
Activity 1 We are going to organize four face-to-face mobilities to the partner countries (Italy, Belgium, Turkiye, Poland) with the participation of both students and teachers.
Activity 2 Four virtual meetings will be held regularly to monitor the progress and evaluate the previous activities.
Activity 3 Erasmus Day event and Zero Waste Exhibition will be organized physically.
Activity 4 An interactive digital platform for dissemination will be developed.
Activity 5 A tool kit involving lesson plans will be developed. A Kahoot game will be created.
Our Role
Our organization develops the following activities that relate to the specific proposal:
- Designing and developing curricula and educational material for youth, aimed at NEETs, students, and pupils with different backgrounds as well as formal and non-formal education providers. The material enables the trainers and counselors to adapt to current challenges (including remote working) and develop new skills that will increase the quality of their services.
- Piloting and disseminating material for educators to create awareness among youth for a wide range of policy areas including environment and climate change, digital tools, or culture and heritage.
- Development of best-practice handbooks for trainers (school counselors or career coaches) in implementing the best approaches to training depending on the educational goals and the target groups and backgrounds of the students.
- Development of specially designed mentorship courses for upskilling.
Impact
Feedback is essential to assessing the impact of the project on learning and changing teaching practices because it enables reflection and conscious changes. For this reason, we will collect data periodically throughout the project, every 3 months by each school. Monitoring aims to determine whether the project achieves its goal, analyzing the project’s successes, focusing on the intended effect, or if there is a need for improvement.
The partnership identified 2 important plans for the success of the project. The first is a monitoring plan by the Italian partner. Twice a year a report on the work carried out to this point will be prepared and sent to the coordinator and partners will exchange these reports. It is very important that someone is responsible for checking that all tasks are in place performed on time, whether results are published, and whether interested schools receive the necessary information from the partnership.
The second plan concerns the evaluation by the project coordinator. Once they receive the monitoring reports, they will evaluate the quality of the results and, if necessary, ask partners to change or improve the results. Moreover, we will consider some indicators to help with this assessment, such as the number of internal and external participants and events, the number of students and teachers directly and indirectly involved in the activities, the number of newsletters published, the number of articles in the local media and local press, number of relevant videos published on YouTube channel, the number of social media posts, the number of people who will use the digital platform developed in the project and number of published lesson plans.
